Congratulations to our client, Safe Harbor Easton, on being named a grant recipient by Keystone Charitable Foundation and The Rider-Pool Foundation in support of the Emergency Shelter Program.
The mission of Safe Harbor Easton is to motivate individuals to work toward self-sufficiency and to improve their quality of life while assisting them to meet their basic needs. It is a refuge for the homeless, a sanctuary for low-income and functionally disabled adults and a haven for individuals in recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. Programs include:
- Shelter. Every day, 20 men and 11 women call Safe Harbor Easton home. As an emergency and transitional shelter, Safe Harbor Easton provides clean and safe housing for up to 120 days while residents reclaim their lives and acquire the life skills needed to gain employment and permanent housing.
- Day Program. Low-income and functionally disabled community residents are welcomed to Safe Harbor Easton each weekday for breakfast and lunch. Other basic services include homeless prevention case management and social rehabilitation to help each individual achieve an appropriate level of self-sufficiency. Approximately 80 to 100 individuals participate in the day program each day and 600 are served annually.
- Recovery Center. The Recovery Center assists individuals recovering from alcohol, drug and other addictions by identifying appropriate treatment programs and resources and helping those already in recovery sustain their progress. The Recovery Center is a resource hub and is open to the community.
